A place where childhood is held with care.

Ballinamoney Childcare Project Ltd

Story Opening

I have watched children arrive shy, uncertain, and quiet, then leave with mud on their boots, paint on their sleeves, and the steady confidence that comes from being known by name; this project grew from that daily witness, from families trusting us with the small ordinary hours that shape a childhood.

Timeline

2006

Starting with a room, a kettle, and a list of local families

Ballinamoney Childcare Project Ltd was registered to make dependable childcare part of everyday life in the town, creating a place where parents could work, train, and breathe knowing their children were safe.

2011

Outdoor routines became part of the rhythm

Walks, weather, and practical making moved from occasional activities to the centre of the week, giving children more space to test themselves and learn through shared experience.

2018

Family support widened beyond the classroom door

The project strengthened links with carers and guardians, making room for check-ins, referrals, and practical support so that the child’s day and the family’s day felt connected rather than separate.

Today

A local organisation still shaped by close attention

What continues is simple and demanding: careful listening, consistent routines, and a setting where children can be playful, curious, and properly looked after in the middle of community life.
